about Inverness Camden

Originally called Wellington Street for Arthur Wellesley; it was renamed as Inverness Street in 1937 in honour of George VI who, prior to his coronation, held the titles Duke of York and Earl of Inverness.

Inverness Street has been a bustling hub in the heart of Camden town for over 100 years and has gone from strength to strength and many guises in that time.

From fruit and vegetable market to the busy bars and restaurants and boutique shops that now inhabit the street, its the centre of the local community, with market traders and a brand new 'Streatery' open all year round for Al Fresco drinking and dining.

The number one destination for your next visit to Camden Town.
